What God is doing through the local Church is the hope of the world

The Church is Heaven's vehicle to stop hell's agenda.
Don’t Forget to Remember: Love.
Judgement begins in the house of the Lord!
Revelation 2:1 To the angel of the church in Ephesus write: These are the words of him who holds the seven stars in his right hand and walks among the seven golden lampstands.
The Church exists to hold up the light.
The Church without Jesus has no purpose!
To Jesus, the Church is golden.
There is a golden opportunity in the church to hold up the light of Jesus and illuminate a dark, lost world.
Revelation 2:2 “I know all the things you do. I have seen your hard work and your patient endurance. I know you don’t tolerate evil people. You have examined the claims of those who say they are apostles but are not. You have discovered they are liars. 3 You have patiently suffered for me without quitting.
Revelation 2:4 “But I have this complaint against you. look at this: You have forsaken the love you had at first.
Revelation 2:4 NLT You don’t love me or each other as you did at first!
Revelation 2:5 Look how far you have fallen! Turn back to me and do the works you did at first.
You’ve drifted!
Forsaken - A slow drift, a gradual process where priorities shift, and the passionate love that once burned brightly begins to dim.
The warning in Revelation 2 is that it’s possible to have all the right actions and still be drifting away from what matters most— love.
1. Don’t Forget to Remember To Love God
Matthew 22:37 You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind. 38 This is the first and greatest commandment.
Obligation and rules kill love!
Revelation 2:5 Look how far you have fallen! Turn back to me and do the works you did at first.
Remember, Repent, Repeat.
“Look” = Remember
“Turn back” = Repent
“Do the works you did at first” = Repeat

Oh, that we would remember our first love for Christ and our early devotion to Him. The sweetness of our first encounter with His grace should draw us back when we have strayed far from Him. — Charles Spurgeon
Remember and then evaluate where you are now and the distance you have fallen.
Repent
Revelation 2:5 Turn back to me
Repentance here isn't just about feeling sorry; it's about realigning our lives and priorities with God's purpose.
Repeat
Revelation 2:5 Do the works you did at first.
Knowing Him more means loving Him more.
2. Don’t Forget to Remember To Love People
Matthew 22 You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind. 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.”
Love God, and love people.
People can make loving people hard, But God’s love isn’t just for the easy to love; it’s supposed to be for all.
One of the strongest argument in this world in favor of the gospel of Jesus is a loving and lovable Christian.
One of the strongest argument in this world against the gospel of Jesus is a unloving and unlovable Christian.
How we love others matters!
1 John 4:20 Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar.
John 13:34 A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.
Revelation 2:5b If you don’t repent, I will come and remove your lampstand from its place among the churches.
The anointing is God’s driving advertisement and enablement to do what He wants you to do.
If you love Jesus and you love others, the light of the love of Jesus will more naturally come out of you.
John 8:12 I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.

Knowing how you have rated yourself, how can you grow or repent for lack of growth in these areas? Remember: Repentance isn't just about feeling sorry; it's about realigning our lives and priorities with God's purpose.
To forsake - “a slow drift, a gradual process where priorities shift, and the passionate love that once burned brightly begins to dim” happens. What we do with that information matters. Are there areas in your life that you have drifted? If so, where and how can you address that? If not, what boundaries in your life help you to prevent that?
