Luke 5:16
Jesus Himself would often slip away to the wilderness and pray

2. Refuse to be offended

Matthew 11:2
And when John had heard in prison about the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples 3 and said to Him, “Are You the Coming One, or do we look for another?”

Matthew 11:4

Hurt people hurt people.

3. Always take the high road

Romans 12:14
Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.

Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. 18 If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.

Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: ‘It is mine to avenge; I will repay,’ says the Lord. 20 On the contrary: ‘If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.’ 21 Don’t let evil conquer you, but conquer evil by doing good.

4. Forgive before they apologize

Luke 23:34
Father, forgive them, for they don’t know what they’re doing.”

Colossians 3:13
“You must make allowance for each other’s faults and forgive the person who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others.”

2 Corinthians 3:18
